At Patch, we think that local news and information have the power to unite a community. We also have confidence in giving neighbors the power to tell their own stories and help keep one another informed about what’s happening at the neighborhood level.
There are a few various ways to reach out.
News tips and press releases can be sent to your neighborhood Patch editor. Tips/releases for Bloomfield, NJ can be delivered to [email protected]
Including small attachments is okay, but PLEASE include all important info directly in the body of one’s email (so it could be easily “cut and pasted”).
Include a single, high-quality photo or image (preferred format is a .jpg). Tell us who we should credit for the photo (you must own the rights or have permission to use it for a news article).
Because of high volumes of submissions, it isn’t always possible to create all releases or respond individually ? but we try our best!

In the Neighbor Posts section, you can ask a question, share a news tip, recommend something to your neighbors or take up a local discussion. (Also you can write a more traditional news release, column, letter to the editor or obituary in the form of an article.)

Post a Neighbor Post
The Neighbor Posts section is really a community forum and social platform designed to connect one to other neighbors ? and also Patch reporters, local officials, nonprofits, businesses and experts in your town.
When you post in this section, your post can look near the top of the Neighbor Posts page. If it receives enough attention and engagement, it could likewise appear on the homepage for the community or within an email sent to local readers.
You can also answer any other posts you see on Patch, to help reply to your neighbors’ questions and participate in local discussions. We encourage neighbors to come together to help each other understand their community better ? because Patch reporters can’t catch everything, also it takes a village to help keep track of what’s happening on the floor.
Always remember to keep your posts and replies local, clean, friendly and factual, in keeping with the Patch Community Guidelines. And to make Patch an improved place for neighbors, please flag any posts or replies that don’t follow these rules.

If you’re looking to contribute in a far more formal or traditional way, you have the option to perform one additional verification part of order to post a news release, column, op-ed, letter to the editor or obituary by means of an article.
When you publish an article on Patch, it will be labeled as “Neighbor News” and will arrive in the Neighbor Posts portion of your home community. If your local Patch editor sees fit, they can also choose to share it with nearby communities or include it in an email to readers.
